Raid Times and Raid Calendar:
a. When do you Raid?
We Raid Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 7:30-11 CST (8:30-12 EST). Invites usually go out 15 minutes prior to raid start time. Alt runs, achievement runs, and GDKP runs are done on offnights and weekends (when there is interest - anything planned ahead of time is usually posted on the forums or in the GMOTD).
b. Do I need to use the Raid Calendar?
Yes. Failure to use the raid calendar may impact you getting invited to our raids and/or getting loot.
c. How do I use the Raid Calendar?
First thing to do is create an account on the 'Raid Calendar' and sign up for the raids (First create a character so you have an identity on the raiding calendar, then you need to click on the little pencil icon to sign up for various raids). Not signing up available or #N/A on a raid day is a bad thing. Signing up available and no showing is just as bad. Try to keep up to date with the raid calendar and make all of us happy. Thanks.

d. Why didn't I get into raid?
There are many considerations made when deciding who gets into raid initially. Raiders ranked 'core' (which is based largely on maintaining very high attendance and being a pro dependable raider) can be favored on invites provided everything is equal - however raid invites are usually much more influenced by other considerations detailed below. In an ideal world we would have 25 raiders and everyone would raid every night - but that is just not feasible, due to comp issues with a particular encounter, raider(s) unavailable and/or no shows (or raiders having network or computer issues), and encounter requirements. So we try to maintain a 5-6 raiders waitlist (4-5 dps and 1-2 healers) on any particular night. Everyone sits occasionally (including officers) - we try to be fair and rotate raider(s) on the waitlist in for various encounters. Before each pull, we quickly make swaps based on who needs gear, who needs more raid time, etc. As stated previously, we do not carry a big waitlist in this guild and we consider everyone a main raider - we do NOT actively recruit for the bench. With all of that said, if you find yourself sitting more often then you would like, there are several reasons why that may be the case: 1. Under performance, 2. Lack of Recent Progression, 3. Comp-specific reasons, 4. No Rhyme or Reason, everyone sits occasionally. Under performance is self-explanatory. Lack of recent progression makes the officers very annoyed and will sometimes push us into just bringing in specific raiders online to move through encounters very quickly in order to get our focus back on progression. Finally, if we are working on a progression kill that we feel has a 'learning curve', we may stick with the same raiders until we get the first kill where possible in order to push through the encounter more quickly.
If you feel your being sat too often and are unsure of the reasons or want to chat about it, we absolutely encourage you to talk to the officers after raids for feedback. We try to be proactive, but sometimes communication breaks down and we want our raiders to be open with us as much as possible. It is VERY important to get on the waitlist if you don't get into raid initially or get sat at any point during the raid night - we use it to coordinate swaps, track attendance, etc. You can be on an alt while you are on waitlist; you can also give us a phone # to text to and be off the game entirely. Posting gear/boss needs in your class forums and/or whispering raid lead is a good idea to make sure you get in for what you want. We also highly encourage all of our members to listen in on the raid whether you are in it or not - especially on progression encounters it can be very useful to know what to expect when you do get into the raid.
As a side note, although very unlikely, it is also possible that we are simply overlooking you - so making your concerns known to us can only improve your chances of getting into raids. Don't be afraid to grab an officer and chat with them before/after raid about any concerns you have. However, it is almost never a good idea to bitch about not getting into raid, especially during raid times - that tends to be just annoying when the officers are usually juggling so many other things. We also do not have time to deal with most issues when we are actually raiding - there is simply too much going on during raid time.
So, as stated previously, if you do not get in raid initially, get on waitlist (whisper 'wl add' to raid officer for that night) and if you want in for a specific boss, you can let a similar class raider know and/or whisper the raid leader or an officer (don't overdo it - if it doesn't work out, its just gear...relax). We expect all raiders to be team players and be OK sitting on occasion. No raider is certain to get in on a certain boss...sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't...
e. Can I be helpful and decide another raider can have my spot for an upcoming encounter?
You can be helpful, but it is not your role to decide the makeup of the current raid. Under no circumstances can you decide outside of officer approval that a raider can have your spot, etc. However, it is extremely helpful for raiders (especially of the same class) to talk about what encounters they'd especially like in on and make suggestions to the officers based on that desire - the officers will do their best to consider the suggestion - but bear in mind that the officers have other considerations to consider as well. Additionally, we want swaps to be efficient - discussing potential swaps ahead of time with your fellow raiders can make it much easier for us to swap raiders in quickly as we want to minimize delays caused by swapping raiders. To summarize, we strongly encourage our raiders to be pro-active on this account in terms of making suggestions to the officers, but they are only suggestions and if we do not act on them we usually have our reasons

.
f. How do you evaluate a raider's performance?
We use many tools and data as well as our in-game analysis for looking at whether every raider is excelling at his or her role. That includes World of Logs, in-game addons, tools and data from various websites (
http://stateofdps.com/,
http://raidbots.com), etc. to fully evaluate individual raider's performance (including our own) and the performance of our raid as a whole.
g. Is 11PM server time a hard stop in terms of your raid times?
Yes it is (although we have gone over a few minutes on several occasions, it is very unusual).
H. How do repairs work? How do consumables work?
Currently, we provide 150G for members, 200G for veterans, 300G for core ranks during raiding times for repairs.
Currently, we provide 10 pots for members, 20 pots for veterans, 30 pots for core raiders during raiding times for usage during raid (if you have left over pots after raid, please put them back).
Currently, we provide a cauldron for flasks for members. We also provide seafood before each pull.
With the above said, you as a raider should always have extra flasks on you (especially if you get subbed in and no one has an extra flask, should have extra food in case you miss the feast, should have your own pots in case you run out. We expect all raiders to min/max for an encounter (which usually means pre-potting and poting during the encounter). You should not be using guild repairs outside of guild raids.
I. What about enchants and gems?
We provide gems for upgrades received during raids to Veterans and Core occasionally. In any event, it is your responsibility to make sure all of your gear is gem'd properly when raiding with us. Enchantments work the same way as epic gems. The guild bank will provide enchantment mats for Veterans and Core usually (for main spec upgrade pieces only). Again, it is your responsibility to make sure your gem'd/enchanted properly when raiding with us.
j. How are legendaries handled?
Similar to how mount drops are handled, we do try to reward those who have contributed (and continue to contribute) a lot to the guild but there is no set rule and each legendary can be handled somewhat differently in terms of how they are handed out. It should be noted that we definitely want to give these types of drops to where the entire guild will benefit through help in furthering our progression.
